Hello. Dave Manby here....
I'm now developing another web site where I can advertise my publications and films, introduce people to the BCU Expeditions Committee and generally waffle on.
The project I've recently been working on concerns the release of the 1976 Dudh Kosi (Everest) Kayaking trip of which I was a part of. I'm currently completing the DVD and it is now on sale. Read more about and order a copy of the DVD
here.
People might want to read about or purchase my book 'Many Rivers to Run'
here.
Another mission is to promote the British Canoe Union (BCU). Information about the BCU and an application to join can be found
here.
This site is also going to be the succesor to Coruh Extreme, the site I set up to promote the tournaments I was running on the River Coruh in Eastern Turkey. The original event in 2004 was a great success and more can be read about it
here. I'm not currently planning to run more events but you never know... I still love that river and whilst dams are being built along it some of the better parts will be runnable for some time to come.
My primary mission though is to promote Kayaking in the UK and accross the world. I have Kayaked in all the worlds continents and want to encourage other Kayakers to do likewise. Over the coming months I'll be updating this site to talk about the places I've been to and why you should go there too!
I might even blog!!
Dudh Kosi - Relentless River of Everest.
At last the original Award-winning HTV film has been released on DVD!
Read more and buy it here
The Coruh Extreme Races were white-water events I was running out in Turkey
I'm not carrying on with these at the minute but if you're interested then please
let me know
Many Rivers to Run is a book of kayaking stories I have compiled
The book is available for £16. See more details about it and read some reviews
here
'If the stories aren’t enough to set the heart racing then the few black-and-white
and superb sections of colour photos will help. This book is far and away the best
and most enjoyable collection of “paddling stories” that I have read. An inspirational
read.' Chris Sladden reviewing Many Rivers to Run
